When Cordy had the vision; when we had left Miami to come back to a place where we had inflicted so much damage, when we had left behing a place where we had been unable to save Gwen or Groo, or do anything to stop Leonardo or Drusilla, or get that necklace, I hadn't envisioned everthing with Connor going this way

This was really poignant, and it was a good thing that he doctors all were facing Connor, because Angel actually vamped for aminute there

I glared at the doctor as he mentioned that we would be paying, well more then enough for the facial surgery. You know, it was typical of a doctor to go ahead and tell us good news and then BAM. Hit us with the price of it.

I HATED hospitals. And doctors. And I had plenty of reasons for that.

"Is there anything else we need to know about Connor?" I asked, raising a brow.

He looked confused for a second then realized we were talking about Connor. You know the kid laying in the bed in a freaking coma!?

The only thing we needed to know was when he'd wake up. That's what we needed to know. But the doctor said he wasn't sure, that it could be days, weeks, months even.

I was tempted to slam him up against the wall. I knew a damn thing or two about comas and how long it took to come out of them. And his nonchalant answers weren't helping.

"I think we need a few minutes. Okay doctor?" I asked, jerking my head towards the door.

I was feeling a little better.

I mean, I was going to have this out with Buffy, even if it came to a schoolyard situation. There was no reason for her to hit Connor so hard, none at all, but she did it anyway, recklessly.

She knew how to punch and could have just knocked him out instead of putting everything that she had into it.

Cordy asked the doctor if we coul have a few minutes, which was a good thing, because I wanted to strangle the male candy-striper at this point.

The news was good, according to the doctor, the cranial swelling not that bad, but then he mentioned the cost of facial surgery, and that was scary on many levels.

"Cordy, how could Buffy do this to him?" I balled up my fists, ready to hit something. She had gone too far.

"His face is going to need some work."
