That Mondevici demon was more formidable then we thought. When we had first met him, he just seemed like some muscled pretty boy who could handle himself when he took out those demons at the hellmouth

"Ye...yes, Gunn, poker would do quite nicely," I said, feeling rather brow-beaten and rather sore from head to toe, as the waiter approached us

"Well, Giles, not really thinkin' that I want to get on anotha plane back to Cleveland, for one..."
That was a big hurdle, like the traffic jam on the freeway when you hade five minutes to get where you were goin', but that wasn't trippin' me out as much as Faith and Justin up there doin' who knew what.
Problem was, I didn't want to come off as jealous when I told Giles about it and I knew that I could easily become that way, because Faih was hot, man, and Fred, she had shunned me to the point where it hurt.
"I know Faith's a big girl and all, but you can just tell that somethin' is up with she and Justin. He's a vamp and we've both seen this before, but we really don't know anything about him. What if he's anotha Monde..whatever his name was?"
He didn't seem like it, but if Faith was lyin' dead on the bed with no blood left in her body, then I was goin' to feel a whole lotta bad.
I was virtually too tired to even make even a slight protestation about it.
I had seen this a hundred times before with Buffy. Spike, Angel before that. I knew that Justin was a bit of a mystery to us, but I wasn't primarly concerned about Faith's safety.
Another thing that I had learned over the years was that vampires were seldom able to hide their true feelings, and Justin seemed genuinally helpful, even accomadating, willing to do anything that we did, and he did have a protective side over Faith, which could be detrimental in the long run, though it was harmless, as far as I could tell, and with Faith, she had always needed someone to guide her. Maybe not now, for she had indeed made incredible strides in her redemption, so thusly, I didn't break into a sweating profusiveness over it.
"Faith is a slayer. Justin seemed harmless. I for one, am staying out of it. Long experience has taught me so. She can take care of herself, and if you don't mind, Gunn, I want to try my hand at some Texas holdem."
"I'm all about the poker, Giles, no doubt, man, I just can't help but think that there is somethin' wrong wit all of these vamps playin' wit the slayers all of the time is all, man..."
It was obvious that I was just bein' jealous right now, and worse, I was still not over Fred. Why was I actin' al possessive and shit? Wes hadn't taken Fred's heart yet; he couldn't have.
Besides, when she cringed away from my touch, she had just been raped and I had taken it way too hard.
Giles and I reached the tables and my drink was gone and thinkin' about Fred made me...
"Yo, waiter, anotha jack an coke ova here, man."
There was a a waiter a couple of feet away, and he took my empty, and walkin' around like he had a stick up his ass, he went to get me anotha drink.
Damn! It was probably gonna be like twenty minutes at least, before I got my next drink. Well, then, I'd have to have a bunch of chips in front of me before that happened.
I at down, and Giles' seat was right next to me and it didn't look like novice night with the antes.
