that is a good question, personally - i think people don't ask questions because they feel like they should already know the answer. or they think their question isn't good enough, or they get nervous, or their cat died, or the microwave timer went off, etc...
i haven't asked a question of anyone who has posted one of these, mainly because i don't know what i'd ask. the usual witty things seem trite and without deeper meaning or thought. and the deeper and more meaningful questions, well...those can be difficult to type out in any reasonably understandable fashion.
ooo. good one, never actually thought much about this past the whole sim-city/civilization game thing where you play creator. in terms of this current incarnation of civilization circa 2008, I'm enjoying what I think is a rise - although those phone commercials where they are playing scrabble using ROTL and stuff? that makes me think that our rise so to speak is coming at the expense of a great many other things, tho that can be said about any ebb/flow of cultures. I am a creature of comforts, and I don't really like to live in a state of turmoil, which I tend to associate with a decline in anything thanks to the magic of hollywood. so yeah, the rise. i'm going to go with the rise on this one.
