You sneak! You teased me about this last night, but I had no clue it was post-ready! ;)

As always, I love your Mulder and Scully, because during whatever phase or timeline you set them, I always recognize and love them. I giggled in a ridiculously happy way over Mulder's "Don't judge!" in his ridiculous apron, among other things.

I'd say more, but it would just be pointless gushing. You know how much I love your fic.

I had no clue it was post-ready! ;)

Neither did I! Hehehe, it just snuck up on me, and suddenly it was 6 in the morning and I was posting. Crazy.

Thank you so much; I'm glad you recognize them, that's the best I can hope for. And oh Mulder! He got kinda sweet and goofy on me. Maybe there was something in the hot sauce. *g*

She texted him like some heartsick teenager.

That line made me grin, thinking of Chris Carter's answer to the "How have they been keeping in touch?" question at Comic Con.

I love the way you were able to weave together so many of the little details we know and make them into this lovely story.

Hee! I totally loved it when Chris said that - it's so cute and weird for me to think of Mulder and Scully joining us in our post-90s world of high technology.

Thank you - I tried to stay within the bounds of what we already knew, without making it obvious. So (I think) people could read it and not know the difference between spoiler and speculation, but it's kinda extra fun for those of us who are a little bit spoiled. I'm glad you liked it!

"It's easy to want to give everything up, just to keep them from taking it."

Well, maybe not easy.

This is a very plausible little scenario, plus your Mulder sounds like Mulder and your Scully sounds like Scully.

I like your made-up psalm, although I am surprised you couldn't find a biblical passage that was similar in tone.

Poor Scully, she just wants him to be safe, and she has given up so much to follow him into exile, hasn't she? But Mulder can't help but be who he is. This sounds like a great character-based conflict.

I can't wait for the movie, too. This is the only vaguely spoilery fic I have read, but I agree with your assessment, it just seems like well-thought-out speculation. Mulder and Scully are back to save the world from the latest mutant monster threat. . .

Thank you for the kind words. I can't help but wonder whether Mulder and Scully would really agree with that line - want to give up, preemptively, to keep from being stripped of their agency again - but I feel like that often enough! And even if neither of them would choose it when the rubber hits the road, I think they could benefit from testing it out on each other, like any good pair of codependents.

I actually edited together my own psalm just to align the particular lines I wanted. Any of the psalms I listed could have worked for the tone, but I couldn't really paste in a whole section of the psalter, and the parts I wanted were strung out in different stanzas.

Thanks again for the feedback! I really appreciate it :)
