I didn't know that other people had problems with reinstall, but I was hoping that it wasn't as rare for it to error out every time, including when an install attempt was made on a brand new machine.
there was a post or two about new installation not working but no actual answers for it unfortunatly. Wish there was, such as an alternate link to download from or something. I'll keep checking every now and then to see if a better solution is posted, because from the sound of it, it is the (original) downloaded client that messed up, and a newer version might work installed on a different path.

I wonder if that means I would have to delete and registry purge FlyFF which also uses a version of gameguard, but it was doing that before FlyFF was installed so that's a bit circular logic.
Edit: I meant to use this icon. I have two icons with the keyword of "apple", one in lowercase and one with a captial letter and I got them backwards again. *facepalm*
well it could be worth a shot but I'm not sure how much that would help, if at all. It's weird how errors like that happen, because it doesn't even happen to everyone who downloads the same as what you had. Quite odd indeed.
