So, after a slew of less-than-perfect auditions lately for shows I really wanted to be in, I finally got into a show that I REALLY DID want to be in. Sometimes the reason for all that failure is just to give you a kick in the ass and get you on your "A" game for the one that really matters. Unfortunately, I didn't get the part I was after. Ok. My mind is blown. I know the director! We were in grad school together for a year (until he left,) and his current lady friend (who is in the process of moving to LA) is a great friend of mine.

In this business, the world is beyond small.

Thanks! That is so cool that you know Doug! We met about 4 years ago doing possibly the most hellish version of Henry V ever. And, yet, I made several good friends out of that cast and he is one of them. I guess the trenches really do bring people together. You know, it's a shame he isn't talented OR handsome, isn't it? [/sarcasm] Oh, I probably should have mentioned in my original post that he is another one of the reasons I'm excited about the show. I finally get to work on something with Doug that will be GOOD.

Yeah, he's got that talented and handsome combo in the bag. Please tell him I said hello! I'm actually pondering a fall '07 visit to LA, so who knows. . . we may meet!

It's being mounted at Sacred Fools and will feature the premiere of a new song never before included in any production of the show.
