[There's a pause for a moment, during which all one can hear is someone's rather uneven breathing. They sound like they've been running, or perhaps have gone through a nasty shock. The noises of the monsters are distant, but audible. When she speaks, her voice is tight with constrained fear, but not panicked. Not yet, anyway.]
