Incredibly unfamiliar with the fandom, but the story you've presented is quite compelling.

On that note, I'd like to claim this one.

Probably just as well, I'm not sure how accurate this is. ^^; Reinhardt is a military genius who becomes a general at 18 and Emperor at 21. In LoGH there are two competing forces, the Galactic Empire and the Alliance of Free Planets. Chrissie wrote up a really good nonspoilery introduction here.
