Obviously you never read Patrick Stewart's Intro to one of the Transmet GNs. They do wonderful things with makeup and besides, I have it on good authority that Stewart could pull it off.

Nah. James Marsters has exactly one character. Now mind you, it's a character I quite like, but...not quite right for Spider.

Have you ever heard him on the Dresden Files audiobooks? That man contains MULTITUDES.

Having just read the whole series for the first time, I noticed the nod to Stewart at the very end, which definitely qualifies as 'messed with my head'. The idea that the actor who portrayed the most calm, paternal, and unflappable of Star Trek captains (oh, and the psychic wheelchair guy, I guess) has more in common with Magical Truthsaying Bastard Spidey just adds so much to the world.

Personally, MY demand is that Showtime, having apparently inherited HBO's courage, should pick up both 'Preacher' AND 'Transmetropolitan'. Former live-action, latter animated. That is all.

Maybe get Marsters as Preacher? But def Stewart as SR.

I can't see anyone other than Johnny Depp in his Hunter S. Thompson garb... but that's kinda cheating.
