Things I Learned/Did at Gen Con

So, I'm back from Gen Con 2008.

I have a Red Bull to hand, wine chilling in the fridge, and two loads of laundry percolating sudsily.

Here's my attempt to offload some of the awesome so MAI BRANE can cool off a bit.

If I don't mention you by name/LJ userid, please do not be offended -- I was overwhelmed by meeting so many people.

I think you just dropped enough names at once to shift the planet on its orbit.

Sounds like a heck of a time!

(PS - for what it's worth, if those were mini-demo's of T&J you were talking about I was thinking about how one would do that the other day and concluded that it'd be really hard. QMR is hard enough.)

I'd follow that Red Bull with water. Your liver will need to be detoxified after drinking with princeofcairo. :)

Thanks, Chad! Over 80 lbs. down now (I even lost a few at the show) so it's nice that people can tell.

I didn't get to spend enough time with anyone at GenCon.

That rocks, Phil. Now it's my turn. This year I'm undoing the 40 pounds of IT Job and America that happened to me over the past 8 years.

Didn't get a chance to meet up with you this year, but it was just chance. I'll try harder next year.

I spent most of my time with printer reps and licensees -- very important meetings for us -- and didn't have nearly enough time just to chat with people. If I'm back for the show next year, I'll have to actually schedule face-to-face time with several different people.

I can't believe Josh Hoade got into an S7S demo and didn't tell me about it, before or after. We shall have words, he and I.

I also regret I didn't get to talk to you more, Chad. Meeting you was nice, playing and/or socializing woulda been nicer. But dang, those four days do go by in a blink, don't they?

bat penises? pshaw. you should be discussing armadillo penises. up to 1/3 of their body length, baby.

The Shab-Al-Hiri Roach demo

OMG, there was this one time at steve's house when i happened to glance at a shelf and saw this enormous (but small enough to be life-sized) cockroach. i kinda froze, and watched it for a while, and noticed it wasn't moving. so i finally asked him, "um, is this an actual roach over here?"

turns out it was the roach that comes with the game. *whew*
