I sometimes can't believe how lucky I am, as my doctor diagnosed me quite quickly and seems to know a lot about M.E. I really hope you can find such support somewhere. Soeey to tired to write more! Sending hugs, K x

It's really important that you get seen by a supportive GP. You need someone who understands that ME is a long-term condition ( ... )

I'm so sorry to hear you're having such a bad time of it with this. It made me angry reading how little support you're receiving from doctors ( ... )

You need a new GP. Unfortunately many aren't that good at dealing with the condition and sometimes you have to put up with mediocrity, but this is well past mediocrity and is going to cause you substantial problems. Try ringing another practice, explaining that you have been diagnosed with ME and that your current doctor doesn't believe it exists, and asking if you can speak to one of their GPs, perhaps asking if any of them are good at handling ME (I've done this with a different type of condition at the Family Planning Clinic and got myself a specialist in the condition, whereas the previous doctor I'd seen there had been useless). Have a brief chat, don't bitch about your current GP, just say that unfortunately he doesn't believe ME exists in anyone, and make it clear that you do have an official diagnosis. That might work.

There are various ME organisations about, they're not as helpful as they used to be but still worth contacting for advice.

I don't have the energy to read the other comments so sorry if I'm repeating - but find another Doctor.. and if he/she does the same thing as your current one, find another docotr, and keep looking until one accepts you're actually physically ill & not depressed. Maybe ask some UKers on here that are around you which Doc they see.

FIND ANOTHER DR!

& try to smile, you're not alone, our situations are all ridiculous.
