Stomach virus 'could trigger ME'

US researchers have produced compelling evidence linking chronic fatigue syndrome to a stomach virus.

The researchers examined 165 patients with chronic fatigue syndrome - also known as ME (myalgic encephalitis) - and long-standing gut complaints.

I heard about this one abouut a year or so ago from an aromatherapist.

I have to say though, that it sounds like a reverse corralation. If you've got a lowered immune system from ME, then of course you're more likely to have a stomache bug.
Not to say it's not a possibility.

Just... it's possible that researchers are seeing an effect as the cause.

Kind of like saying "Balls always fall" Drawing the conclusion: "balls are the purpose and cause of gravity."
Then you look at a rock. Which also fall.

Anyway, that analogy went a wee bit arwy, but still.
Here's hoping they're on to something!

p.s. Yes on the stomach bleh-ness here too. Treated me for IBS. But the meds for it didn't seem to help.

Yep, just like all of you I have stomach problems too, kind of similar to IBS at times? It was never as bad before I got ill with CFS.
