One more winter storm. It's not the 6" of snow it was threatening, but I had to cancel my plans to go to CRU tonight (which canceled itself soon after due to the weather), and everything's just heavy slush underneath and it's gross

Totally! I do not make empty threats, after all, and it was a fun idea! :) You should save some cool ideas for yourself, though, if you've got the snow.
I did get to meet him, but beyond talking about his own experience, he wasn't sure what to tell me as far as useful advice went... and what he did say wasn't very encouraging. The firm is also a lot more technical than I thought it was. So despite the gorgeous views and proximity of the office, I don't think anything's going to come of it.
I'm sorry, I forget, do you work a job while you're at school now?

Depending on your schedule, I might suggest that you find a small one. It seems like everyone I know who's working now is working because they had a part-time job or internship while they were in school. Which to me seems sick, but it's my observation. And that's my bit of unsolicited advice. I know art school keeps you as busy and sleepless as architecture school does. :(
