Aren't comics already some of the cheapest entertainment around? Compare a volume tag to the price of a DVD, movie ticket, or a seat at the Nutcracker performance. Make them any cheaper and they'll blow away.

it sure is the cheapest. I have no idea why people keep on complaining

haha... TT; at my place, we only get about MYR100 a page. $300 a page sounds so good to be true... we have to work really really really hard just to survive.

how much can 100myr buy? can it buy at lest 2 weeks worth of groceries? cause here in florida, 2 weeks of groceries can run about 100-200$ or more depending on what/where you buy (and thats at the cheapest, un healthiest food you can get)

I was actualy looking at it more from the consumers point of view. I get that company tries to hagle artists, but I see no reason for comic buyers to get all in a bunch for 4$ comic, especially when they compare it to how 'comics used to cost'

As for the "working for cheaper" article....
I think they should increase the price on comics anyway, it's not like everything else didn't increase. :O

As for working cheaper, simply have less people on a comic team will make it cheaper, there's no need to lower the payment, either. I see what they are talking about... :P

One Should see how writers on comics get paid, it's so low its SAD.

I dont know how much that would change things, I would figure the artists would charge more for more work.

So many people grip about how they wish they could draw, 'how hard and frustrating it is so they don't do it,' but they still don't understand why artists can't or shouldn't work for free- 'just out of love for it' (heh. Well, most are forced to work for close to free)

You're posts about all this have been really interesting.
The whole idea of companies trying to get cheaper and cheaper work without really worrying about quality always seems to lead to a major decline. It's sad. *coughdisneycough*
