Bored AGAIN. That's twice in three days! God, it is so very very time to be done with this horrible German class. I am definitely not usually this boredom-prone.

You shouldn't post these things while I'm trying (marginally successfully) to research and write a paper all in one weekend! Of course, I should have the willpower to resist. But I don't. So here are my answers.

1) What's your favorite onomatopoeia?
Hrm... I love squelching. Probably more than I should.

2) What would be a good name for a pet chinchilla?
Tycho. Don't believe me? Check out the facial hair on this man!. You should probably know you're talking to the girl who convinced her friend to name a newly acquired hampster 'Stalin' based on the poor creatures facial fur patterns.

3) How about a name for an eighth dwarf, of the Seven Dwarves from 'Snow White'?
Heh. We (my friends from home and I) have come up with a few in recent months, mostly describing various boys in our lives. My personal favorites are Spazzy and Shocky.

Hahaha, Stalin the Hamster. I love it. Yay you. And Tycho is a brilliant name.

Good luck with all the papers!

I don't remember if I've ever seen this written, but it's pretty universally pronounced in English, and I really like it: nyeeowrm for passing cars on the Doppler effeft makes me happy.

The two chinchillas Dan's roommate has are called Delilah and Sarah or something, but I like Fop for a male and Poppy for a female. Especially if you put flowers in her hair. You realize hermeneut is spelled with an e in the middle?

3. Huffy, for either the teenaged dwarf with a drug problem or the easily offended one.

Yeah, spelling "Hermaneut" with an 'a' is supposed to evoke the name 'Herman', which I also like as a chinchilla moniker. Best of both.

(You know, it funny how you choose to correct me on intentional stuff or things that aren't actually errors, and never mention the numerous actual typos and misspellings that find their way here as a result of inattentiveness, rather than misplaced whimsicality... Is this intentional on your part?)

Your dwarf name is brilliant.

Yeah, it's usually the ambiguous ones that I'm not sure whether they're intentional that I ask about, because the other ones are clearly typos or slips that you know better (such as my "effeft" in my comment). I am a copyeditor, sure, but I usually just correct things in my head and refrain from being a tool about it unless there's a question as to whether you meant them or not. Whimsicality for the win.

Heehee. 'Pierre' is somehow a hilarious name for a chinchilla.

Actually, chinchillas in general are sort of intrinsically hilarious, but ones named 'Pierre' especially so.

Hee, "nöff". Is the umlaut in Swedish pronounced the same way as in German?

Not 100% up to speed with my German but I would say yes it is more or less the same pronunciation.
