As I often mention, I love how vivid your writing is...and how wonderfully it all fits into canon. Even the subtlest details do not escape your intricacy!

He was even more unsettled when Neville named Ginny and Luna as his co-leaders.

I think most of us would be quite unsettled as well ;D

While I love AUs, I do love to stick to canon as close as possible. Thank you, it's always nice to hear from you. :)

My standards for D.A. stuff are incredibly high. I had never, ever found a fic that met them. Much less a fic where I could ignore my own 7th year universe and become fully absorbed in someone else's because it was fully logical, well-written, and richly developed. I am sincerely hoping you make this a novel of the whole year. This was even better than the last, and I even like your Neville, although it's a little eerie sometimes to see moments where our stories (unconsciously, I think) wind up parallelling almost word for word. But of course, we're both extrapolating off the same set of data.

Only one thing that I must nitpick: Defense is the opposite of offense. Defence goes around defield.

It is probably inevitable some of our stories will sound something alike. Any likeness will probably deflate the more I continue, simply because of the different POVs. But I do appreciate your honesty, and look forward to seeing if I can keep up to your standards. I do plan on making this a novel of sorts, the longest continuing arc of my Smith series.

I was using the English UK Spell-check in Word, and it kept correcting me from Defense to Defence. I'll double-check. Thank you for bringing it to light.

Thank you for your input and review. :)

I love this so much. Funnily enough, one of my favorite parts about it is the way you have the characters really embody their House. I'm not sure if you're trying for that, or just doing it unconsciously, but it's awesome - Ginny's justification for Hermione's curse, for example... it's so Gryffindor!

And I really like this line, for some reason: It’s your birthright, and it will keep you safe. Rather chilling.

At this point, it's probably subconsciously lol. Thank you, most kindly. :)

I simply adore this (I even posted a link to an fanfiction.net site that I frequent, recommending both your Zacharias series!)

You've captured, in such few words, the atmosphere, the fear, the trepidation that had to have consumed Hogwarts during the final book. I do love that Zach was, as ever, the fly in the ointment, but he does have this idea of right/wrong (although he so bloody negative sounding all the time!) and his ethics and his opinions. He's so unique, and you've managed to make him a believable good guy without making him "good".

And I loved that "birthright" line and the letter from his dad. Great work, yet again.

*small voice* I vote that you devote a novel to your version of Zacharias too! Whenever you can get around to it.

Thank you for the recommendation. :D

It's great to hear that you're liking this series. As for a novel, I'm pretty much getting there endshamelessplug. Thank you for the review. :)
