I'm confused, why sardines? :s From Rodrigo's fasting in s2? It seems like a waste of money/food...and usually networks don't respond well to receiving junk in the mail during save-the-show campaigns anyway, from what I've heard. :/

I think the main problem is that Neil Jordan doesn't want to do it, not Showtime....if people are sending sardines in the mail they should be to him. :(

This is an online effort, but sardines were chosen for a reason lol and it was a good one, but I can't remember it lol. I wasn't very involved in the decision.

ETA: Okay I asked a friend ..here is the reason

"It refers to the line in the Show last year about fasting on Sardines to atone for ones sins."

I wasn't involved in the organization or decision but I know some of the participants. The decision was made based on similar fan efforts in the past resulting in reversal of network decisions when other shows have been cancelled. As such the idea to organize this effort came about. There are also online petitions and email efforts. I think one of the examples was Roswell which was brought back on the air because fans organized an effort of sending stuff in the mail. There are other examples but I don't know them.

I think letting the network know of the fans dissatisfaction via various methods is valid, sending tokens has been done before and hopefully the network will take the fans into account the next time they cancel a show prematurely.

In this case I do think it's mainly NJ and not SHO.
