this is hard... i have lots of favorite songs, and they're constantly changing. as i discover a new artist who touches me, the list of favorites rapidly grows... and then recedes as i move on to the next. i'm gonna go with a perennial favorite:

I like how you described your first encounters with The Who. I've liked JM since high school, and her songs feel like they intersect with my life and feelings so well. This one in particular reminds me a little of my relationship with an old friend of mine who was never quite a lover. But he's like the coyote of this song.

thanks for playing! it's always interesting to see how people interact with music. i never got into joni mitchell, but i can see the appeal. i always think of the line from "love actually" where emma thompson's character says something like, "she's who taught your cold english wife how to feel..." well, something along those lines.
