Gosh darn it! Every time I post my usual insightful, eloquent, and deeply meaningful thoughts to livejournal I get no comments, and yet when Al hacks my account and leaves an inane mental bat dropping such as this, everyone and their monkey decides to respond :P
You might try limiting yourself to a screen-length paragraph.
Short epigrams could even serve your purpose better. Less is more, as the saying goes.
When you post essays, sure there's a lot of information but therein lies the problem. Your readers are trying desperately to get through whole friends-pages in the amount of time they've got. A long post better be the most entertaining thing ever.
Lastly, remember: no matter how well-thought-out or objective your point is, it remains just your worldview. To some other great thinker out there, it's nothing but a pile of bs to sift through. ;)
The profundity of it, which you should try to bear in mind at all times, is that either viewpoint is as viable as the other.

Ok well I suppose 2 of my more recent posts may have been slightly longer than a page depending on your LJ setup hehe.
