Better get all your opinions out now while you can

Free speech is dying, my friends. I'm worried. In Britain Tony Blair is opposing making it unlawful to "support" terrorism, which I'm assuming means it will be an offense to merely say you support something like that. Most of my friends would be jailed under a law like that.

This Bill is approx 1 year old. These are the voting results.

Apr 19, 2005: This bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote. (Roll 109.) The totals were: 411 Ayes, 8 Nays, 15 Present/Not Voting.

As far as Tony Blair, are they talking about just saying things or by helping financially. Because you can be arrested/detained here in the USA for "supporting" terrorism.

It's hard to say what they mean. It says "glorifying" terrorism. What's considered glorifying it, though? I don't believe in terrorism at all, but if I say I might go to a march or a demonstration, could someone construe that as glorifying terrorism? I'm not sure how it would be in Britain, but in this country, with all our deep divisions, it's too easy to interpret something however someone wishes, regardless of what is "meant" by a law.

I thought I'd never agree with the Tories, that's for sure!

People here though can burn the flag and not be arrested which to me is a terrible thing. I don't know...I'm just glad I live here and not abroad.

It's just my opinion, but I've believed for awhile if obtrusions to our rights keep proliferating, there won't be much difference between living here and living in the middle East or China. Wiretapping, anyone?
