Irresistible force paradox

Squalo, Yamamoto thinks, is an unstoppable force. He tears through his enemies, almost nonchalantly slicing off gun barrels and hacking off limbs, advancing relentlessly, like a flood or an avalanche that mere mortals cannot stop no matter what they do. But the more they try, the more fun he will have in breaking out of the mold they’re trying to case him in, showing them just how useless all their efforts are. There is natural grace in his movements as he kicks one of the guards down the stairs, simultaneously blocking the attacks of two others, before whirling around and beheading them in a single, well-aimed strike.

Yamamoto’s own style is much more subdued - he makes no unnecessary movements, blocking when he can’t evade and cutting when he can’t block. He’s more like an immovable object, a mountain that the guards can’t get rid of, something that persists and survives by being rather than doing, leading his opponents to make a fatal mistake on their own.

They are polar opposites, an existing paradox - but, he thinks with a faint smile, that’s exactly why they work together so well.
