I hear you on that. A friend of mine still has dialup. Well, AT&T provided faster internet access to his neighbor, right next door. My friend asked AT&T for the same service, but since the lines to his house were too old to provide it, the company said it couldn't be done. He asked if they were going to replace the lines. The answer was no because doing it for just one house wasn't worth the bother or expense. Nice.

We have fiberoptic lines being laid in our rural area. I have a satellite dish now, but I'm hoping to opt into the new system. Should be faster and more reliable.
