Talk about a nail biting finale. I kept looking from my TV to my clock and back again just praying that Kate would come back and we'd get our happy ending. Thank heavens - or more accurately Sally Wainwright - that we did. It was utterly spectacular and I loved that they saved the really big romantic moment for the lesbian couple.

I know. Just awesome. The director for the last three eps was Jill Robertson who directed S2 of "Lip Service" so she's delivered on lesbian scenes before :) it's like she just told the pair of them to just keep kissing until I tell you to stop and we'll work around you. That was some kiss. And an interesting way to come out to her entire extended family...and the hotel staff who seemed to be (in the background) going, "I knew it!"

I also loved everyone else's reactions: Gillian's smile of happiness, William's utter delight (and his girlfriend's too), Lawrence's 'Oh, no, mum!' and his friend's 'oh, teachers' smile and Celia's typical disdain (Celia is such a cow but I can't help liking her most of the time).

Yes, Celia can be a bit of a cow. But at least she's consistent. She seemed okay with Kate before Kate and Caroline got back together again. But I love Alan's support of the ladies relationship.
