Baby, our 18yo kitty is sick. She has a bladder infection and it looks like she's going into kidney failure. We're administering subcutaneous fluids once a day and antibiotics twice a day, and are going back to the vet in 2 weeks. They'll recheck her blood then and we'll know whether she's starting to bounce back or if it's unlikely she's going to

*hug* I'm so sorry, sweetie. Pets become family members, and I seriously felt (still do) exactly the same way after losing my dog. I sorta distance myself now from animals, won't let myself get too attached... and made up my mind I won't acquire another pet.

Kathy brought a kitty into the relationship (Puffy), and I'm not going to distance myself from her since it wouldn't be fair, but I can totally understand the temptation. She's only 5, so hopefully it will be awhile before we have to deal with any health issues in her other than her preexisting condition of "Spaz."
