I've never written HP fanfic before, and to be honest I haven't read any of the books since OotP came out, so characterization may be dubious. It's also less suave-and-confident!Sirius and more socially-inept-and-slightly-squishy!Sirius, and Remus is more long-suffering and snarky than shy thus far...but it didn't look like anyone else planned to fill this one, so better this than nothing ( ... )

Sirius was oddly quiet during dinner, a state with James and Peter unsuccessfully attempted to coax him out of. Peter slipped off after dinner to catch up with his Ravenclaw girlfriend, and James gave up on Sirius shortly after in favor of attempting to impress Lily with his newly-gained knowledge on the mysterious habits of her former people. Back in the common room, Sirius spent several hours staring moodily into the fire. Just when Remus was beginning to relax (a sulking Sirius always put him on edge for reasons he suspected weren’t entirely to do with the aforementioned’s tendency to lash out in such a state), he stood up abruptly and strode up the stairs, presumably to their dormitory. He was still on his bed, cursing softly at a sheet of parchment, when Remus retired for the evening, but jerked up at the creak of Remus’s trunk opening ( ... )

It was working better than he’d expected. He and Sirius had been “dating” for nigh-on three months now, far longer than the other boy usually went without sneaking off to Hogsmeade or some secret room for a clandestine meeting, and Sirius had stayed true to his promises of monogamy. He knew this because of a gift he’d received shortly after they started all this-a sheet of parchment designed to wipe magically and transfer any notes he took on it to a preorganized folder up in his room, with a permanent fixture in the corner that resembled a classic Wizarding family clock ( ... )

Peter and James, although they had not yet made up their minds as to whether they were worried, pleased, or amused at this turn of events, made sure to give Remus and Sirius at least two hours of “private time” in the dormitory every evening. Remus was fairly certain they spent this time plotting some epic prank that would land all four of them in detention for a month, but Sirius didn’t give him much time to worry about such things. They hadn’t gone any further than kissing-the still-visible series of notches on Sirius’s bedpost was a constant reminder of why that would be a bad idea-but Sirius hadn’t pressured him towards more, which he was frankly surprised at. They didn’t even kiss every night-currently he was simply resting his head in Sirius’s lap while the other boy stroked his hair. Maybe…maybe this could be okay ( ... )

Remus felt rather like moaning now. “Yes?”

This really made me laugh! I think we should add checks for all of the above to the list of requests.
