Fic: Recessional (Heroes)

“Do you believe in love at first sight?” asks Zane Taylor.

Mohinder shrugs, too casual. He can feel his heart beat a little faster; his palm slips, just a tad, on the steering wheel. “There can be a biological connection from a simple glance,” says Mohinder. “Desire. Lust. It is from hormones, pheromones; nothing more.”

“So,” says Zane, “ ( Read more... )

Oh, that's beautiful. Finally, the real reason Mohinder Googled Zane. :D I like how Mohinder's giving in to Zane's seduction is almost uninterrupted by the realization that he's Sylar. And poor Mohinder, realizing that he has no friends to call, that the only one who comes close is the one he's just found out is a serial killer. Relatedly, it's nice to see Mohinder's relationship with Eden brought up in a Mylar fic.

So, is it Zane or Sylar that believes in love at first sight?

Mohinder's really alone at that point in the series...Eden was his only friend for a while, but after he went to India and came back to America, he didn't have much real contact.

Yeah, I really hated Mohinder's relationship with Eden the first time around watching the series, but the second, I saw it a lot better.

I don't know...could be either. Could be just another of Sylar's manipulations.

Wow, you managed to make it angsty without overfilling the melodrama meter. I love all your fics though, really. It's always a little weird for me to think of Mohinder starting something (kind of not really a relationship, right?) after he realizes that Zane is Sylar. But you did a nice job of letting Mohinder stumble over the mental hurdles of Sylar's transgressions.

Yeah, I was a little afraid that I went OOC with Mohinder there, in having him go ahead with a relationship anyway. I usually try to make the angst better by understating it, a little...

Thanks! I'm glad you liked :)

Oh, this was just lovely. Poor Mo. He's just like "What else is there to do other than go along with it?". Very interesting take on his finding out. And I love love love road trip conversation, because there had be a lot of it and I love the idea that they sort of bonding, even setting the sexing aside.

In summation: yay!

Thanks! I do like playing around with this, the idea of Mohinder as a kind of willing victim, but I think I might have taken him a little too dark in this one. But hey, angst week, right?

I'm glad you liked :)

Uhm. So. I read this and my heart skipped a beat. Then another. Then another. And then i stopped breathing. And then I died. And went to heaven.
Why?
Because this is amazing. And sad and perfect and so just right.

they said it changes when the sun goes down around here
because basically, this fic makes that line

<3 love it. wow.

and the way mohinder makes it about science...

Well, awesome! I'm glad you liked :D And hey, there are four more coming.

...eventually.

They keep saying in the series that Mohinder was always too emotional, and that's why Chandra kind of rejected him, scientifically. So, I think Mohinder uses science a little bit like a defense mechanism...

Anyhow, thanks!
