Jury Duty
OK. I thought Jury Duty would be cool. I wanted to do it, but today I had to do the hardest thing. We had to decide today whether the defendant was guilty of rape.
NONE of the Jurors thought he was credible, none of them liked them, but we had to free him even though we all thought he had done something wrong. The state just did not PROVE rape. It was a he said, she said situation and neither was credible. I was the lone hold out after a few hours and because the proof wasn't there, I just couldn't hold out any longer against the majority. Maybe I should have, maybe I should have stood my ground. I just wish the state had done more. I think if they had brought more personal witnesses or done a little more work, that others would have decided for the plaintiff.
This guy is predator and now my biggest fear is that because he got away with it, he will do it again.

At least I don't have to report for duty tomorrow. Thursday evening, I still have to call in and see if I need to report Friday.
