Greetings one and all!
I've been mentioning this to various people for a week or so, and
kvetcheternal has said he will come, but here's an LJ post to make it official. Since it is my birthday on the 12th of February, I thought I might offer to take some peeps up to my distant homeland of
Stratford upon Avon, or more specifically a largely residential suburb of Stratford called
Wellesbourne, on the weekend before (9th and 10th of February).
I can't offer anything very exciting; just an opportunity to explore another part of the country, stay in a nice house for a night and perhaps eat nice food (my Mum's a very good cook). I expect people can bring DVDs and we can occupy the lounge for a night and it'll be fun and stuff. :-) There's the possibility of a play - specifically, standing tickets to see
Henry IV Part II, where the main attraction will likely be
David Warner as Falstaff. Tickets are £5.
Accommodations are - one spare double bed in the spare bedroom, a comfy sofa, and the floor. My Dad's car is also quite small so only another one or two people can come. Costs - train ticket is £15.00 return (£9.90 with a railcard). Travel arrangements - catch the 11:20 train from London Marylebone, and get off at Leamington Spa at 12:59. Use my Dad as a taxi service either back home, or to wherever. On Sunday, due to engineering works, we'll need to use a different route back: Leamington Spa to Coventry, then the Virgin train to London Euston (which will be crowded).
That about sums up what's on offer. Anyone interested? (I'm aware of the trip to say 'your mother was a hamster' to the Scientologists, which will likely be the preferred outing for many of those reading this. :-) )
