Who: Michiru, Demyx, open What: Water music off in the town square. When: Afternoon. Where: Twilight Town. Warnings: probably none. Status: In progress.
There were many places around Twilight Town that Demyx could play his sitar, but some were better than others. Actually, Demyx was willing to play his sitar anywhere, however some of the shop owners had a tendency to get on his case for loitering, which was always a major pain. A few places, though, actually encouraged him to come by and play. The music shop was one, saying that having a skilled musician strumming outside was always a good way to drum up interest in playing an instrument.
Since he'd been chased away from his favorite haunt by the fountain in the center of town, that was where Demyx decided to go next. He settled with his back against the wall of the store and began with a slow and serene tune he'd thought up while drifting through the oceans of Atlantica.
Michiru was unsure exactly where the music store was. She was looking at the signs outside of all of the shops trying to get her bearings when she heard the music. It sounded quite good even too Michiru's trained ears. More than that, she could sense something in it, though it was unclear what. It was almost...a scent of the ocean.
She followed after the sound until she found it's source outside the very store she had been searching for to begin with. She observed the musician carefully, not only could she sense the ocean in the music, but it seemed to be emanating from the man.
Demyx had a random hat propped in front of him for people to throw change into. He flashed smiles and winks at the people wandering by, particularly the ones that seemed interested in possibly throwing a little change his way. Even when he struck up a little playful banter with people, his fingers never stopped on the strings.
The serene tune came to its end and Demyx started on something more lively, something that made his fingers dance along the strings. Slow was good to warm up, but the faster stuff got people's attention.
Michiru continued to watch, interested not only in the odd sense but the music itself. It was quite good. As the music changed so did the feeling she was getting from behind it, but the same scent of the ocean remained. She felt nothing threatening coming from the man so decided to investigate closer. First she would need his attention.
Michiru joined the end of the small semi-circle watching him play the large instrument. Quietly she set down her case and took out her violin, all the while listening to the unique song and picking up the cords. With Marine Cathedral in it's proper place she began a low counter-melody, matching his pace and the musics tone.
Zexion was around the world and still coping a bit from the earlier incident at the Cafe, giving his side a rub and grumbling about the hole in the side of his blouse. This World really held no luck for him and would probably been worse if he had decided to live here. Luckily, he didn't and he only visited to actually visit the teashop and pick up some imports that he couldn't find in Radiant Garden. He had stopped with his cup of tea in hand, noticing the crowd before the familiar scent caught his nose and music hit his ears.
Riiight, there was a moment he tried to open to come here and see what Demyx had made up but the join string instrument wasn't Demyx's and left him curious. Therefore, he stayed but off to side the side, not bothering to be squashed in the crowd that was proud of the performance.
Demyx grinned a little wider as the woman not only met his challenge beautifully, but even made it a challenge for him to keep up. His fingers flew as the tune escalated, matching her complexity and blending, like two raging streams meeting and blending into a single, beautiful waterfall. He was oblivious to the applause and the people tossing money into his hat, focused on keeping the music going.
Then, his own tune shifted, moving to the background, letting her take the tune where she willed it.
Michiru was enjoying this impromptu duet, though she still did not know what exactly she was sensing off of him she could admire the talent. Her eyes snapped open and she scanned the crowd as she sensed another like the musician; But different, more empty. Rather than being distracted, loosing herself in the music raised her spirit awareness.
Her music slowed as she searched the crowd but did not stop. She stared at the source of the new sense briefly then returned to her music, eyes closing again and moving with it as she took the tune over.
Becomes a black sheep to the crowd, keeping his distance and eyes locked on the two while taking a sip from the cup in his hand. Now and then, his focus drifted to watch and listen to the crowd before around to become familiar with the other buildings in the area. Zexion, actually couldn't recognize this district, he wasn't much of explore of the made world but content with how it developed as more origins settled here. Coming out of thought, his eyes returned on the two watching the women’s eyes lift, wondering if she knew he was different, that he was here.
Michiru smirked back at Demyx's flirting. It was hardly a new experience for her to be flirted with by male musicians, or any male for that matter. It was a game to her, one she enjoyed. It was too bad Haruka wasn't here, the only thing that made the game perfect was her lover jealously coming to her defense.
"You and the ocean had a falling out?" she asked still with a flirtatious smile. "The ocean tells me things, not the other way around...I won't be able to get you in her good graces again." She smiled wider, showing she knew exactly what he had meant.
Lifts a brow between them before stepping back a bit from his spot as the others talked about the motion of the ocean, giving his eyes a slight roll. He could probably slide away with being unnoticed as he was good at being a shadow and forever be on when he stood to someone with a heart. There was more he'd like to talk with the Nocturne about but it could wait another century or two, it wasn't important and easily he could be forgotten.
Demyx chuckled, his grin widening a little as she responded with a teasing sort of flirtation. This was a conversation he could handle.
"Well, the fair lady ocean does have a fickle heart," Demyx replied. "Maybe if I keep playing such pretty music with your company, she'll forgive me anyway?"
"That could be one way," Michiru replied. She noticed that Zexion was attempting to sneak away and decided now was the best time to take a look through her mirror. She was of course trying to be discrete, but what she saw took her enough by surprise to get a reaction in her eyes.
"Perhaps though," she began again, eyes still a bit wide looking up from her mirror. "It could have something to do with that you're not really here." That was the best she could explain from what her mirror showed her; which was nothing. Zexion did not appear in her mirror at all, even though she could sense him. Demyx was again the more odd, in that he was there, but transparent.
