It's never a good idea to expect much from a book adaptation, I know. I haven't read the book, but I really really love the movie. I probably wouldn't be so in love if I had actually read the book, but the whole premise of the clone thing and how those kids never even had a choice is just so... perfect. All that said, I'll buy the book soon and come back later to discuss the movie again :)))

People either love the book or hate it. One of the great beauties of this work, which I think lovers of it get and haters of it don't (or aren't interested in, to put it more gently), is that the whole tone of the work is because of who these characters are. The fact that the donors fully accept their status is one of the most disturbing aspects of the story.

If you like the plot I suggest you to watch The Island. It's another dystopian movie about people growing clones to harvest their organs. The similarity ends there, though...

That's what I love about it. The portrayal in the movie was very good, I'm sure book is even more amazing.

The Island is one of my fav. movies, but yeah, similarities definitely end there. At this point I think NLMG > Island.

Tahmin etmeliydim izlediğini. Karşımda bir başka movie buff duruyor sanırım :) İki filmi karşılaştırmak bile doğru olmayabilir aslında. nlmg'nun dram yönü ağır basıyor bilim kurgudan ziyade. Ada filminin sonunda kahramanlarımız muradına erdiği için filmden sonra için rahattı ama nvlg hem kitap hem film olarak beni numbnesslığımda başbaşa bıraktı sağolsun.

Never Let Me Go'yu seyrettim ama kitabını okumadım. O yüzden beğendim diyebilirim şimdilik. Ama kitabı okuduktan sonra asıl fikrimi paylaşmak daha yerinde olur herhalde. :P

I've seen Never let me go a week ago, and i bought the book, i'm gonna start it, when i'll finish my exam. And yes Rachel Portman makes such awesome soundtracks, she did also the one from "the duchess" and they were absolutly gorgeous.
