everybody's got something to hide except me and my Monkey

What would life be like without the occasional snow day?

Mom told me not to set my alarm, because Carley would call her before six if Yonkers was cancelled. I woke up at eight, looked at the clock, and screamed "SNOW DAY!".

Who cares if I'm no longer the student? I was still thrilledKelsey and Alexa heard my shriek and ran into my room. "Scooch ( Read more... )

You can never have too many stuffed animals.

I collect Steiffs, and have a rather impressive collection of beautiful animals all around my flat, although only three of them are actually on my bed. I sleep with two dolphins and a seal. Although not in that way. ;-)

Pass some of that scandalous action this way, would you? Cheers.

I'm with you! The more, the merrier, and the cuddlier.

Yay for marine animals in your bed! *g*

And I do think a room or apartment looks much homelier with smiling little faces. Just as long as they're not glaring at me because they've been left out in my cold room all night long.

I also always felt like they all wanted to be in bed with me, and they'd look at me balefully if I climbed into bed without them. There'd be nights when I'd wind up with twenty or thirty animals in my bed simply because they gave me these looks and I felt too guilty to leave them alone.

I know! What finally freed me of the inevitable pile was when we moved to this house, my stuffed animals accidentally got put in storage, and no one realised where they'd gone. So I had to do without.

On the bright side, I can actually *roll over* in bed now ;)

AWWWW YOUR ICON IS SO CUTE AND APPROPRIATE. *pets it*

The rolling over would be a plus, because I always worry I'm crushing someone. And I know when I go to college I should probably pack some up in boxes so they won't get dusty or eaten alive by bugs, but... but. *wibbles* Can't I bring them all with me? ;)

Ehe. Well trust me, there was a lot of sadness when they went missing.

And yes, that's my sheepl ;). I couldn't find a picture of the one I actually own--sort of pale lavender with that soft chamois-feel fur--so I did with the pink (and totally different brand) one.

I just love it when my icons actually have something to do with my comment! :D

Wait, so they went in storage and you never saw them again? *pets you in sympathy* I have some things lost in storage too, like old journals, but no stuffed animals.

Your icons are exciting! And your sheep sounds really really cute. I want to snuggle it for you. ;D

Oh my gosh! As a child I had soooo many stuffed animals. My father made me put them in these huge Gateway computer boxes. I needed three to fit them all in. I always felt terrible about them being packed away, because I felt that each one had a little personality that was being confined between six cardboard walls.

I still have so many stuffed animals. I'm so jealous of your bed, though. I'm jealous that people climb into your bed, and I'm more jealous that I'm not one of them. In fact... your life seems simply magical. :)

Well... at least the Gateway boxes were probably nice boxes to live in, because they had cow prints on the sides, and cows are animals too? ;)

Someday when I live on my own I am going to fill up an entire corner with stuffed animals. A sort of shrine, perhaps. But for now they're just shoved wherever they can fit.

Lexi, I would LOVE for you to climb into my bed. :D I'm pretty good about sharing a bed, usually... at least, I haven't had any recent complaints... *winkwink*

All of my stuff animals sans two slept in the closet. I was horrible to them. The only two that had bed priviledges were a stuffed dog my parents had gotten me when I was a baby, named Chain (don't ask me why I chose that name because I have no idea) and Elliot (the dragon from Pete's Dragon which was one of my favorite movies as a kid).

They're all in a box in my parents basement at the moment. If I have kids they'll get passed down though.

My sister had the biggest stuffed animal though. She got a giant Scooby Doo stuffed animal for xmas one year. It was like over four feet tall.

Four feet tall?! It must've cast scary shadows! We have some big stuffed animals, most notably Kelsey's giant polar bear that used to sit in its own rocking chair and my golden retriever that I used to ride like a horse, but nothing quite that huge.

I like the idea of passing your stuffed animals down to your kids. It's like sharing something you've loved, a part of your childhood. I want to share all my favorite childhood books with my kids, too. :)

*nods* It was amusing trying to watch my sister put it in bed with her. Scooby would take up almost all the space and my sister would be right on the edge. I think we have that xmas on video tape somewhere where she finds it.

"annoisy, puffygerbil, and pinknari probably remember the days when "MONKAFH" was my main screenname."
I do too!

Currently, I occasionally sleep with a sarong from guess who? You'd be surprised to hear.

Oh, that's right! I thought I changed it in 2000, but I guess I was wrong. Hmmm. (I do remember your days on... Lexmath? Or BookEva?)

Awwww. I hope it's comforting, from time to time...

WOW! You're good. There was one before that too, but I can't remember exactly. My sister made it for me.

Haha it certainly is. Funny, I started out sleeping with it as a light blanket in the summer. It's so beautiful, red and blue and purpley. Now it's just habit, there isn't even the association that there used to be there. Time really does change things...

I have trouble remembering all of my AIM accounts, though. ;) At least I don't use different passwords!

Time does change things. But it's nice that now it can sort of be a *comfort* blanket, right?
