Oh God, I'm crying my eyes out here... that was utterly beautiful!

Poor Markie, but the way the others were so caring with him and made him see how much their friendship really matters was just so heartbreaking.

‘If he’s one of us, he’ll come back to us,’ said Jason, as kindly as he could. ‘In this or any universe.

That was when I lost it completely *sobs*

The way you drew the connection between the press conference and them realising how wrong they were at the time not to look after each other more... I have no words actually.

Sorry, not my most coherent comment ever. Just, I loved this story so so sooo much and I'm already looking forward to that epilogue now - we need to know more about Mark's recovery.

Thank you :D I hoped it all made sense - I wanted to emotional journey to *mean* something and draw some parallels, even if I did go waaaaaaaaaaaay overboard on the Markiewhumping...not that I've heard anyone complain about that too much ;)

*hugs* - sorry to make you sob :(

I will definitely come back to that epilogue sometime soon, plus all those missing scenes...there will never be a fic this long again from me, I don't think, but there will definitely be more from this universe :)

I think it all worked very well - esp. the changes in Gary were *very* canon and made so much sense. I love it that - like in RL - he realised that he doesn't need to do everything on his own and that he sometimes just needs to be able to lean on his friends.

I also liked that you refered to what he said in his book - that he and Mark didn't really get that close the first time around. That makes me look forward to the epilogue even more, I'm so curious to see how they'll deal with the aftermath and how it affects their relationships among each other... and how Markie fits into the little triangle that Howard, Jason and Gary have formed.

Thanks. Yeah, I drew quite a lot on what Gary said in his book - his opening up like that is very useful for fic. And it would definitely be interesting to see how, over the next few years, he and Mark learn to be really close for the first time in *these* set of cirumstances...

*ponders* ;)

Snif, that was such a nice happy end.

Finally they're together and stronger then ever I am sure. I love how Gary finally admitted to his feelings like that... and then with that bringing Mark back to them as well in way.

Also love how you brought the press conference from the beginning back to this chapter and used it to show how much has changed.

Well done! I'm kinda speechless here and a bit sad that it's over...

Aw, so glad you liked the ending - *hugs* :D

Also, very glad it seemed to work emotionally - I thought writing this ending would be hard, but it actually flowed quite easily...it sort of tallied with RL just a litte apart from, thank goodness, RL Markie has never been so whumped!!!

Thanks so, so much for reading to the end - oh, and there will probably be an epilogue...after I've had a little break ;)

Glad that it flowed so easy and was fun to write. It all really fell brilliantly together with real life. And yeah, indeed it is a very good thing this isn't really RL for Mark.

Yay. Cool that there will be an epilogue coming... after the break. You really deserve one after all the angst. ;)

Definitely - I want him to be as un-whumped as possible in RL. Not only is he lovely, but I want him to be fit and well to entertain us ;)

Hehe, well, that's what hols are for - to refuel me for epilogues :D :D :D

Not that I've been sitting here all day waiting or anything...

*rises from seat and applauds loudly* Brava! Brava!

Epic in every sense, adventure, intrigue, laughter and many many tears and more poor Markie than you can wave Hamster's pointy stick at!

That I loved every moment of this you already well know, but I'll say it again, this was truly wonderful!

That little glimmer of human feeling that Richard shows No, he wasn’t going to feel any stupid, pointless empathy with Robbie’s angel boy.

At least, not today. maybe with time and the right care even he can heal ( ... )

Aw, thank you so much!! I'm so happy you stuck with me to the end :)

Yeah, poor Richard. It's going to be even harder for him, really - his relationship with his 'mates' is so different, and I'm not sure there will ever be a time when he is willing to 'talk'. A few beers with Rob and Jezza might take his mind off things...or make things worse. Interesting...and kind of sad :)

As for Mark, well, I might explore some of that in the epilogue. I kind of figures he would maybe need four years before he decided being in TT again might be the way forward...which fits nicely with the 2006 reunion ;)

Hehe, believe me, I expect Markie's misadventures to be very much in the forefront. Venetian!rent-boy!Markie will no doubt please us very artfully...

Wolfie's on her hols, but hopefully we can bug her for answers at a later date...which reminds me, you must post the rest of your awesome manips, pleasy please, one of these days when you feel like it :D

Lisa's just pointed out to me how much Markie will freak when forced to perform on X-Factor and coming face-to-face with our universe Cowell!!!! But yes, those quite moments of regression will probably be the saddest and very touching and inseresting to explore...

No!!! You can never think too much about traumatised Markie...or, indeed, Venetian!rent-boy!Markie...oh, but I can't write that lovely scenario with the canals as somebody else *looks pointedly* has already done it perfectly :D :D :D

Eeeeeeeeeeee! Just thought of Barney makes me all happy - he's soooooooooo cute - so glad you got to see him :)

Is it really over? I really didn't think it would end!

God it was such a good edning though! The four of them together again and now they're going home! Yipee!

It's a shame Robbie wasn't really there, turned out I quite liked him in this fic!

Well done girl! A great fic and i'm sure your glad it's over! :)

It is...heh, well, apart from there might be an epilogue after I've taken a little break ;)

So glad you emjoyed, and thank you for reading to the end and your lovely comments. I did consider whether Rob should have been closer to them in this ending, but it didn't really fit with the parallels with OT4s emotional journey...but, as Jay says, he's still welcome ;)

awwww, they really do love each other, don't they? Thank you so much for giving me this little tingling feeling in my tummy. You know, when you're somewhere between crying and smiling like a fool.

Aw, and tears and hugs and a bundle of those 4. It's a sad thing it's over.

a bit ooc, but I'm kinda sorry I found this so late. Would have liked to have waited for each of the chapters to show up after some time, once the previous has sunk in, you know. I just happened to read it all through in 2 nights. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved it, but i DO love the waiting process. So I hope there'll more of these. :D

And about what I said 'bout Rob before. I couldn't have wished for a better ending concerning the matter. I absolutely loved this:

‘If he’s one of us, he’ll come back to us,’ said Jason, as kindly as he could. ‘In this or any universe. And he’ll be welcome...however long it takes. If he comes back.’

Aw, thanks - and, wow, I think you had the most epic job of all, reading this over a couple of nights. I've realised it's ended up novel length (over 100,000 words) which was more than I ever intended...

But there will be more like this, I'm sure. Maybe not quite so long, mind... ;)

Glad you liked the ending and that the emotions seemed to ring true :) Yeah, that line from Jason was based on something he said in an interview last year...it kind of fitted nicely here. It's amazing how much the boys 'write themselves' - this ending came a lot easier than I feared ;)

Thank you so, so much for reading and for your lovely comment :)

oh, I absolutely love reading marathons. Whenever I get my hands on anything readable, I won't take my hands off it before I'm finished... :) And it really was my pleasure!

What did he say in that interview? And yes, whenever it's based on real situations, it only makes the grin on my lips so much wider. :)

An epilogue? Oh, I'd love an epilogue (with some Barlowen sexing if that's not too much to ask and if Markie's not still too fragile... ok, I'll shut up. ANY kind of epilogue will be most appreciated. or any fic at all).

Aw, thanks so much! I do like a good long read myself too, when there's something to get 'in' to. Glad to provide :)

I can't quite remember, it was about last March, but basically he said that Robbie would still be welcome - I would give you a You Tube link, but can't find it myself, sadly :( It was similar to what Jay had said a few times, though...

*g*! I've been pestering asilia to write me a Barlowen follow-up to this, so I'm sure between us, there'll be something along those lines. The epilogue will definitely be ot4, with a Mark/Gary tinge to it... :)
