Today I went to an informational discussion by a painter who uses the techniques of the old masters. He's studied how they did their paintings, what their methods were and how they got the effects that they did with what they used. It was interesting. It was worth it just to find out how to use rabbit skin sizing, which I remember seeing in Utrecht

Knock on wood, my mother is doing pretty well. I cant really believe she's turning 70. I have noticed her slowing down some. I helped her plant a ton of stuff this last time I was up, because it was just a bit too much for her to get done. But she still has her garden, still does her yard sales, still loves to cook. And she's married so she does have someone else around. But yeah, not looking forward to the days when they can't fend for themselves.

my mom's 70th was last year... I know when her bday is, but completely forgot the age, as did my brothers. Thankfully we pulled it together last minute & did a nice gathering here.

Crap, her birthday is a week from today. Boy, that year went by fast!
