about twenty years ago, the power company was promoting ideas on using less power so that the costomer could save on their utility bill while less fuel be purchased for generating electric power. what a sham con job! the average bill went up, and the excess power was sold in discount blocks to industry, so the fuel consumption stayed the same.
yes, do use those flouresent light fixtures, but most of the bulbs are purchased at "dollar store" outlets, which are made at the same factory boxinng the same bulbs in those "more expensive and greener" packages sold.
and those "energy saver" gagets sold to "reduce consumption", the only real one that saves power is the switch that shuts off power to the wall outlet. had invested nearly $200 in such gadgets that save no power at all versus simple inline outlet switches costing a dollar apiece that shut off appliance when not in use.
it is ridiculous if not insane those "be green" solutions that really do nothing by look great on paper proposals, but in real life never work at all. Wildflower
So let me pose the question again for Mr. Bush. What do you do if you are allergic to fluorescent lights? Do I go to bed at six to avoid using light at night? Oh nevermind; I do that anyway and not only do i not use electricity, I have no life.
