I know it's long in a world of 40 second clips and 20 second attention spans, but I strongly suggest viewing it. I would be a pretty poor student of socio-anthropology if I ignored this video.

I love TED talks so I totally watched all 18 minutes of this! Great speaker and great topic. If they showed THIS on those "donate your $" commercials, I would be much more inclined!

Agree. Actually intelligent and eloquently illustrates the issue worldwide. North Americans so often forget that we're a global minority and this is the way life is everywhere else. I'm so fascinated by the implications of this kind of thing on culture, society and politics. And how, no matter who acceptable something is, there are still people brave enough out there to defy it and strive for change.
