Shippers.

Seriously, what the fuck?

For those who have never heard the term, shippers are people who are gunning for certain relationships to happen in a given popular series - according to www.urbandictionary.com it started with Harry Potter.

Now, I noticed this years ago when some online friends of mine were big into Harry Potter fandom. ( Read more... )

frankly, it makes me sick.
especially the harry potter stuff.

If you want to write that fic smut, please come up with your own characters and story and don't taint someone elses work.

They ship because it's two hot guys getting it on. For the most part. They'll often times leave out canon het pairings or break them up because, and I'm only half-assedly theorizing, is that the chick's a threat, kind of taking over the spot the writer and/or reader could fill in.

Old school Kirk and Spock doesn't bother me because those two were close enough that it could have slipped into the romantic field, but yeah, some of the stuff people seem to be cool with drives me nuts, like HP and teachers boinking kids, or even better, ship wars. You ever want to laugh and be horrified, watch two young girls screech it out over who is supposed to be fucking the character, and why they're meant to beeeeeeeeeeee!

But where's the appeal in two hot guys getting it on? To rather pretend they're gay instead of accept that they are involved with a female character? So confused!

That young girls are objecting to anyone fucking anyone is disturbing in and of itself...

Well think about guys and they're lusting over two girls getting it on, I doubt it's any different.

I guess... Even that has never made sense to me!

In porn where there's a threesome involving two women, they usually make out. But I have never seen a threesome involving two men where the men make out - even in porn made specifically for women.

So riddle me this: if that were the case, would not a multi-million dollar industry have picked up on and exploited a penchant such as that?

Now I really have to wonder if there is an actual straight female market out there for gay porn?
