Vet help??? Please!
Ok guys, I need help with this.
The kittens that were dropped onto my doorstep are sick. They need to see a Vet, bad.
Grace O'Mally (or Gracie) is having urinary issues. She pee's very frequently, but it seems to come out in teeny droplets in 'bubbles'. The only way I can think to describe it is inside an orange there are the sections, but inside the sections are little juice filled 'bubbles'. That's kind of what's coming out of her and they're occasionally pink colored. She also has some very light discharge from her nose.
Jean Lafitte (or Little Feet) has an entire other issue. There seems to be something wrong with his right eye. It doesn't open all the way and the web-thingie in the inside corner of his eye doesn't pull back as far as it should. I also think he may be partially blind in that eye. He has less discharge by his nose, but it's there.
I called the local shelters, but nobody does 'low cost' appointments for foundlings or anything like that. The best I could do was my local vet and they want $45 per kitten to look at them. I want to take them but I have been laid off and am basically fucked myself. (My cats are eating better than I am!!)
I need anyone who can help to do so. The little guys bounce and play but I can tell there's something wrong. I'm going to try and take pictures of her 'bubbles' and his eye and post them for you tomorrow so you can see them for yourself.
Please help me get these poor little guys.
For now, here are a few pics of them sleeping and by my sisters hands. (She's 5'6" and has small hands BTW, so you can see how little the babies are)
Edit: I live in a town of 1200 people. There are not all that many vets about and those that are about, I have contacted, I have no problem doing that. I called the local shelter and humane society and they had no suggestions of help or where to find 'low cost' Vet help sadly.
I will be calling tomorrow to see if the local Vet Office will take payments from multiple parties and in the meantime I am speaking with a friend to see if they will accept Paypal on my behalf. I will let you all know as soon as I find out something solid.
Edit #2: I spoke with the Vet this morning. They will take multiple payments if it's 2 or 3 people but no more than that. I do not have a friend close enough to where I live that would let my using their Paypal account feasible. I can accept Western Union with no problem, if you want to send it that way, my name is Amanda Magee and I live in Perry, MI. Simply email me at celticmistress@gmail.com with your name, the amount sent and location (Needed to pick up the funds). If you happen to be in a wal-mart as some point today you can also pick up a 'reload pak' for a green dot reloadable visa. I have one and they are easy to load and usually more inexpensive than Western union. If you went that route I would need the numbers off of the reciept to load the funds onto the visa card.
I will happily post a total of the amount sent by all and if that total is above what is needed for the vet visit and whatever medications the kittens need, then I will give the rest to help other kittens/cats in need.
Also, I said I would post a picture of Lafitte's eye and although he was very uncooperative in the taking of the pictures, here are two that didn't come out all blurry from kitten speed! I couldn't get a picture of Grace's 'bubbles' as she's very fastidious about covering things in the litter box and it makes it hard to photograph when it's covered.
You can see the 'web' on the inside of his eye and how it's further out than it should be in this one.
You can see how the one lid doesn't open as wide as the other and the 'crust' around it and his nose a bit as well.
I use lukewarm water and I wipe both kittens clean of the 'crust' every day and after hearing of the steam/shower technique, I am going to try that today. They are eating well and neither one has a lack of appetite, that's for sure. Grace is almost half the size of LaFitte but is twice as fiesty. I think she may have been the runt but I don't know...
