Just spent £2200 on a new Mac Pro and Monitor.....

Breathe Chrissy breathe.

Will take a long while for me to pay off but costs of repairing my imac would be a lot and I would have wanted a new comp in a year anyway.

Money will be tight now for a good 2 years.

Yes very pricey. Stressing a little over the cost, but worth it.

AUGHH!
that is a ton of money on a mac. :(
couldn't you have built an Intel system that works with the mac OS for less?
speaking of, I had to rebuild mine as well since the main hard drive fried out too. I still thank the dark gods for making sure nothing but my OS stayed on the primary drive and everything else went to secondaries. Lost everything in my desktop folders though. *sigh*

Well, lets see your new hardware!

Can't. Took a professional company a lot of money to be able to create a computer able to run Mac OSX. Not sure what Apple use in their hard ware to stop people building systems to run OSX but it works well and this company that finally made a clone are getting sued by Apple.

I would not want to anyway. Apple is one of the few companies that has my consumer loyalty. I have used Apple computers for 20 years now and been extremely happy with them. My current problems aside I have had very few problems with them and a lot of rewards which is why I am always willing to pay more for the good product Apple provide.

Can't show my own hard ware yet as I wont get it for probably 2 weeks bus basically it is

http://www.apple.com/uk/macpro/with a better graphics card.

I'm not really brand loyal at all thanks to years creating Frankenstein systems. Guess it's something I've missed. :( Cest la' vie.

I like the case and form factor setup, especially where the pci cards have their own bay to keep them cooled off, same as the RAM. Very squeaky looking rig I gotta say.

hmm, want a photo of my franky rig? you'll laugh at some of the parts. heh

I have a friend who loves building his own PC's. He keeps saying he wishes Apple would sell the mac pro cases with nothing in them so he could use it to make a pc. :)

Sure show away :)

Ooh, definently worth it! There is nothing like new computers/gadgets to make your day brighter. I just bought an external harddrive of 1 TB and is as giddy as a schoolgirl on prom night over it. Yes, I know, I'm odd like that =P

I really hope it works well. And I wish I could buy myself a Mac too, but I've grown too Windows-dependant I'm sad to say. Too many win-specific applications =(

Don't forget macs run windows now. And most apps get on windows get on macs these days.

I got a 1TB external too after my other broke. I have not connected it to the computer yet. Shall wait until the new comp arrives.
