do you know of any songs that deal with the emotion of shame?

Hrm... well, Joan Armstrong's "weakness in me" is kind of about it, as is Fiona Apple's "Criminal" (at least I think so.) You always have the classic song "Freshmen," by the Verve, and I think i could say Depeche Mode's "Precious" could be about shame somewhat, too. At least, these songs have a lot to do with regretish-shame, not sure if that's what you're looking for.
