My iPad arrived about 2 hours ago! I've got it synced with a selection of my music and the apps I bought on Thursday, and I'm putting it through its paces right now. Typing in landscape is remarkably comfortable - and that's coming from someone with no previous iPhone training. There will doubtless be a more thorough review later this evening,

I can't recall if I mentioned this to you or not--apologies for the repeat if I have.

People in Ireland were not happy, a while back, when the name of the iPad was announced. The reason? Because in several Irish accents, "iPad" and "iPod" would be pronounced exactly the same.

This is especially ironic, since Apple is one of the largest high-tech employers in Ireland, and particularly in Cork. One shudders to think what the help desk will be like when people start calling in. "I'm havin' trouble with my iPahd....No, not my iPahd, my iPahd!"

I think there are regions of the US that suffer the same issue, but I can't think of what they are.

My first thought was Boston, but they'll distinguish between the iPawed and the iPad.

Seriously. Em and I went out to see it yesterday and were not impressed.

oh, dear. will i be disappointed even though i'm expecting it to be bad? is it the wrong kind of bad?

curiously, i have such high hopes for my non-disappointability for this movie.
