Coloring...

I haven't been in much of an iconing mood, so I decided to color. I've colorized a couple of Bettie Page black and white photographs. The coloring is a bit intense but I like it. Intense colors seem to be my thing (at least I think so). =\ I've placed both behind the cut with it's B&W counterpart. I'd love to here your thoughts on these, feedback ( Read more... )

It's also sorta "Twilight Zone"-y because I just watched that film prior to you putting up the images. Has Roxy showed you to the portal in my mind. ;)

Yes, I agree with you on both accounts. The sharpening of the file and the contrast levels seem to give it that drawing look. But as you said it's not necessarily a bad thing. It sort of gives it a nice retro feel which is appealing. Bettie has been a favorite subject lately and I'm having fun playing with new techniques with her photos. Thank you for the feedback. =)

Have you gotten to see "The Nortorious Bettie Page" yet? It is really well done and Gretchen Moll does a great acting job. She is very believable as Bettie. She captures that saucy innocence that Bettie does so well. =)
