Today at my software-development job I learned that if an active shooter in your building is throwing grenades you should hit the ground flat, but if he's shooting bullets you should instead crouch down, because grenade shrapnel goes up but bullets ricochet off the floor. I've had some moments like that (being trained, NOT being shot or umm...grenaded). They keep life in perspective, don't they? And are a little surreal!

I may mention this to our communications team. They keep looking for safety topics.

Of course, if there were an active shooter in our building, we'd quickly know who has a concealed carry permit and is violating company rules....
