During the class the rabbi made an interesting comment about the tree of knowledge in the garden of Eden, an idea I hadn't heard before, so when I got home I asked about it on Mi Yodeya. Answer in 47 minutes, and very likely the source the rabbi had in mind (based on other context). Nice!
(The idea: if Adam and Chava had just waited a few hours until Shabbat, God would have given them permission to eat from the tree of knowledge then. In other words, it was a temporary ban.)
