For days I've been wanting to post something long and thoughtful about our current national woes, but other people (particularly osewalrus are covering that ground quite well and the words just haven't come. I don't get why they have such problems. Hopefully none of them get reelected.

It would be nice, but the American people have a long track record of short memories. :-( (In my own state, for example, the legislature held a midnight session, probably illegal, to give themselves all pay raises while the state was running major deficits. They and the judges who permitted this got re-elected a year later.)
