Yesterday Dani and I went to the Canton of Beau Fleuve for the elevation of dagonell and cigfran_cg to the Order of the Pelican, the SCA's highest award for service. Yay!
I hope people who weren't in the ceremony like I was will post pictures (and tell me where :-) ).

Thanks for making this entry public! Richard was asking me this afternoon if there were photos, so it was nice to be able to point him here. And thanks again for transporting the stuff for me.

Richard's banners looked wonderful! I hope Hak or somebody got pictures and will share.

I'm sorry you couldn't go. Transporting the cloaks and hats was no trouble at all. (I have your needle and bobbin; will try to remember to bring to choir.)

Hak gave us a full CD of photos. Ghods only know when he found time to take them. We'll post them later this week. Today was food giving, dish washing, clothes washing and people washing. :D By sheer serendipity, my UU church's monthly potluck was today, so we overflowed their table with vigil leftovers. The kids liked the 'duck cookies' :D

My goodness! Great (overdue) news. These two have been around -- and working -- forever.

Yeah, I'm really happy about this!

I was prepared to be asked to be the Pelican speaker and was instead asked to speak as a Laurel -- and while I said a bunch of stuff about their work in the arts and sciences, I know I also left a ton out too. Yeah, quite a while...

Sorry about that! :D Otfrid and I attended our first event together. To me, it was a no-brainer that he would be our Pelican. Afterward, it was pointed out to us that all five of our worthies were Pels.

Oh, please don't apologize for allocating the speakers the way you did! I had completely forgotten to plan for Otfrid needing a slot. I'm sorry my words weren't as eloquent as they could have been, but that's my fault, not yours.

And thank you for all the hard work you folks did. I'd like a full list from you so we can send out thank you cards later this week. I was utterly floored when my parents walked in. I think we totally demolished the "real men don't cry" mythos this weekend; Hak, Otfrid and I were flowing like faucets. :)

I'll email you a list.

I was really pleased to see the pictures. The clothes look good - were there a lot of alterations or did things work out OK?
Thanks for including me in the preparations.

Thanks for all your work on this! As I told Dagonell, you did the sewing and I can pin and iron real well. :-)

Dagonell's clothes fit without alterations, though after seeing the tunic more closely I said we would shorten the sleeves. (Even the hat was right! Arianna had left that slightly unfinished in case we needed to adjust.) Cigfran's apron-dress needed the alterations we planned on; I didn't catch the details. Cori was doing that so she'll be able to fill us in, or we'll take a look when they send the clothes down for finishing.
