I'm home from the National Chavurah Committee gathering (which I've come to think of informally as "JewCon"). As you might have guessed, I didn't write entries while there, so you get a dump in arbitrary order now. :-)

Meh. I can push an alto, but there was zero chance of my being there. (If you feel like finding out why, check my LJ - but I imagine you have far more important things to wade through.)

Yeah, I did see some of that. Ouch. (I also suspect you would prefer a gathering that's somewhat smaller and more academic?)

Unclear: there's some evidence that the current devil's cocktail is actually working finally.

On the other hand I'm always up for academic stuff.

On the gripping hand, I miss singing :/ but if I'm finally stabilized maybe I can actually start regularly attending shul, and then consider the IG choir. (Am still somewhat conflicted about the SCA.)

Even just singing at (participatory) services would give you more than you're getting now. If you join the choir, so much the better.

(You said IG choir. Does that mean you're looking at my congregation? For some reason I thought you'd decided to go elsewhere.)

Wait, you missed part of the orientation session because even with a map you couldn't find it? Yup, something wrong there...

The problem is that the townhouses we were staying in weren't marked on the map -- so I knew we were off the edge in one of two directions, and guessed wrong. I've already given this feedback -- an arrow and "to townhouses" would have done the trick. (magid had driven me down after checkin, but driving paths and walking paths are somewhat different and I got mentally turned around some.)

I'm sorry I didn't get to see you on my way through Boston. (Also sorry I didn't get to say goodbye to Tigerlily and Wolf; I didn't know until Sunday that they'd left Saturday night.)

Sorry I missed the Rossi pickup group! I know the tenor part. Maybe next year.

The person who had to leave due to serious medical issues was the managing director (i.e. the only year-round staff person in the NHC office), not the chair, so the things that had the most glitches (e.g. registration) were office-type issues.

Thanks for the correction.

I noticed in one of the posts that you linked to that there was some singing of the Rossi piece Friday night. Sorry I missed that! (I know the tenor part too.)
