Thankyouthankyouthankyou for giving all of the details! I got an almost hysterical call while taking Metro home from work on Saturday -- apparently Hrefna delayed her vigil long enough to pull out her cell phone and call me! I have not gotten the full story from her yet, so I really appreciate reading the story. :-D

The vigil hadn't (quite) gotten started yet, so nothing was delayed. But those of us who were in the vigil tent at the time were highly amused.

I will try to post a more complete story when I get a chance, since I was in on the more of the scheming ahead of time than cellio was. :-)

five pounds of gold florins is a lot of gold, and he didn't even get the full year of her services. His reply: "Did you hear 'florins'? That might have been what was meant, but an error seems to have crept in and the contract actually says 'fleurs'."

So it's actually five pounds of gold fleurs? That's a *lot* of daisies...
