new Japanese restaurant in Squirrel Hill

Since coming home from Pennsic I've noticed a new restaurant on my way to and from services on Shabbat. The restaurant is Sakura, on Forbes near Shady, and is where Hunan Kitchen used to be (which is where Zen Garden was before that, Ze'eb's before that, and Sweet Basil before that -- it's an unlucky location for staying power). There was almost enough pickled ginger -- which is to say, more than most people would expect or call reasonable.

Which is to say, "almost enough" according to both me and montuos. (She doesn't like sushi, but we are both serious ginger fiends like you.) This sounds like another place to add to the list of "places to eat in Pittsburgh as if I'll ever have time to hit every place on the list..."

So, do you know any place to buy pickled ginger in bulk?

This restaurant is three blocks from my house, so if you do go there you must also visit me. Or visit me at the restaurant; that's fine too. :-)
