Speaking of the cats (and not really anything to do with Pennsic, but since you're posting ...)
There's apparently a study into idiopathic hypercalcemia going on at the veterinary teaching hospital at Ohio State. IIRC, one of your kitties has that? If so, I can get info on the study for you, if you are interested (you can email me via my LJ address).
The other is that I have a client moving to the Pittsburgh area who's looking for a referral to a vet in that area for general cat for her cat. I thought you might have some suggestions? (she mentioned Squirrel Hill, IIRC - I've got it written down at the office).
Thanks for the info on the study! Yes, Erik apparently has that -- which is to say, the vet can't find any other explanation for his high calcium levels, so "idiopathic" it is.

I can help with that (and I live in Squirrel Hill). Feel free to put her in touch! (My email address is in my profile.)
They [the Pennnsic Choir] didn't say anything about next year's director or program; I wonder if that means they haven't decided yet.
Unfortunately, it wasn't up to me. Erlandr Nordenskaldr of the East coordinates the Known World Choir and makes the decisions regarding directors, and she didn't decide until Friday that next year's director will be Mistress Arianna Morgan of Lochmere in Atlantia. She was my second in command and soprano section lead this year, and I promoted her heavily to Erlandr, as did another previous PC director, Anne of Carthew. Arianna M is the lady who stopped by our camp several times and sang through the cantiga with me. I expect she'll do a good job next year.
I remember Arianna M stopping by and singing, yes. I'm glad to hear Erlandr made a decision; pity she didn't make it a little earlier so Arianna M could begin promoting at this Pennsic. (Has she said anything yet about what music she's planning to do?)
[Judith] had arranged for musicians who played a variety of instruments. (Am I correct in remembering shalmestere as one of them, or am I mixing up my music contexts?)
Yes, that was I (and Dr. Science) :-) N.B. I was also in the intermezzi for the I Seb commedia on Sunday night (I was the snowy owl playing pipe-and-tabor in the first, and the taller treble in the second :-D)
Ah, so it wasn't that I'd mixed up my music contexts; you made multiple appearances. :-) (I knew I'd seen you formally performing somewhere, but couldn't remember if it was I Sebastiani, the ball, or somewhere else.)
At the very least, I would try to attend. It sounds like a blast, far more fun than the stuff I've done on Purim in the past. And I love sharing my Ypocras. :)
(That reminds me -- should I go with hekshered wine? I never can remember the particulars of my friends' observances, but that'd be good to know now if I'm brewing up a batch or two. Manischevitz actually turns into a decent Ypocras.)
With one exception, I will drink unhechshered wine. I believe that in this regard I will be the strictest person there (well, I assume you're not stricter if you're asking). So as far as I'm concerned, use whatever wine you like.
The one exception, which only surfaced in the last year or two (when I was offered something at a con): I'm cautious about home-brewed wine and will assume I shouldn't drink it unless I know the maker and the maker's religious leanings. Why? Because fandom and the SCA are full of people who really are various flavors of pagan/wiccan, and that's getting awfully close to the reason for the ban in the first place.

No, except that she isn't planning to have a "theme" per se, just pick pieces she thinks people will find fun.
