caffeine

While getting a drink from the cooler this afternoon, I noticed that someone had posted on it a list of the amounts of caffeine in various drinks (and other substances; No-Doz was there for comparison). The list included four or five types of caffeinated water, and they're more caffeinated than I had thought. I'd like us to get some of that. ( Read more... )

And then you can make coffee with the tea!

That's a lot of work, I think. I suggest an office ice-cream maker, and then she can make No-Doz Ice Cream, any flavor she wants.

If I drank coffee, I'd jump straight to that. Alas, I do not care for the taste, a problem I attempt to remedy every now and then because often it's possible to get coffee (either free or at all) in situations where you can't get Diet Coke. And anyway, I'd rather satisfy my caffeine needs without hinderance by either sugar or aspertame; tea does that and is often available, though it's less caffeinated than many other sources.

We have one of those fancy coffee makers at work that offers up coffee, cocoa, and hot water. It offers a button labelled "cafe mocha", which I infer is 50-50 coffee and cocoa. I tried it the other day, but the coffee concentration was too strong. I found myself thinking that if it were 1:2 instead of 1:1, that might be doable -- but at that point, it's not clear it's worth the hassle. I'm not going to make a steady diet of it because my diet can't accommodate several hundred gratuitious calories per day, and if I want a treat I'll just drink the cocoa.

I think about this stuff way too much, don't I? :-)
